About Our Worship

We believe human beings are made to worship God. Worshiping our creator, our healer our savior is a spiritual process that restores us, brings us closer to God and helps us orientate our mind and heart to be more receptive to his teaching, spirit, and influence in our lives. Worship can take many forms. Worship can be conducted in prayer and meditation with God. Worship can be given in moments of spiritual and emotional connection with God, either in times of joy or in times of trial. Worship can be offered privately, and worship can of course be offered through the power of spiritual songs with the whole church of God lifting up their praise together. Music and songs are powerful influences on the human heart, songs can have a positive or negative impact on our spirit and our lives. It is critical then at we are careful about what music, what songs we allow to influence our hearts and minds.

At the Tulsa Church of God, we believe that honest, authentic, and truthful worship of God through spiritual songs connects us with our God in ways that allow our hearts and minds to be open to him. But we also understand that music and song can take on many forms and tastes. We strive to find a balance between beloved traditional hymns of worship and modern or contemporary forms of worship that are equally truthful and authentic. Our worship services are often a blend of these different styles, sometimes with more contemporary or modern and sometimes more traditional. Either way we encourage tolerance and respect among our church family for those who are moved to worship God according to their own tastes and comfort.

The Tulsa Church of God is blessed to have both traditional format song leaders and also the Tulsa Praise and Worship Team that leads through powerful vocals, complimentary acoustic and electric guitar, bass, drums, and keyboard.
